A Focus on Paris

From Wednesday 27 March 2024, The Fan Museum opens its spring exhibition A Focus on Paris. Now extended to August 17 2024

This exhibition aims to present a picture of Paris as a cultural hub of inventiveness and entrepreneurship. The diverse themes showcasing French fans from the 18^th to the early 20^th centuries shine a light on 18^th century fan craftsmanship and on 19^th century fan painters as well as depicting Paris as a city at the cutting edge of architectural, aviation and fashion development.   The turmoil of the end of the 18^th century and the more peaceful social revolution of the 1920s are also highlighted.

In a very small way, this exhibition begins to set the scene for the focus on a city that will become much more strongly headlined in the summer months when the Olympic Games are underway.
